Most tourists contend themselves to availing of tour guide services whenever they are on holiday in some city. While this mode of touring is effective, there is another group of tourist that takes a different approach: renting a car and touring the city around themselves.
If you look closely, renting a car gives you more freedom with your touring itinerary than with using tour guide services. For one, you can spend a lot more time in one tourist attraction when you rent your own car. That is because you are not pressed for time like you would in an ordinary guided tour. Your guides are governed by a schedule that they have to follow closely so that you can see more spots in the limited time that you are touring.
This freedom comes with the ability to be able to stop at any place you find interesting. It could be a house you find to be an ideal subject for a photograph, or a farm that piques your interest. When you are driving your own car, you can just stop each time you feel like it and not worry about being behind schedule.
The less adventurous tourist would probably balk at the idea of touring all by himself or his companions, but the more audacious visitor would welcome the flexibility of being able to follow your own tour path rather than a generic one. After all, real fun and adventure can be experienced more if you find the tourist spots by yourself.
